Biodegradable Restaurant Bags - Environmental Additives*
Environmental Update
A unique additive can be added to the bags to accelerate the breakdown of the material.
The bags will maintain their standard shelf life until exposed to microbial environments like soil and bacteria where the bag can take approximately 9 months to 5 years to breakdown (labeling laws may apply).

100% recyclable with post-consumer and post-industrial recycled material:
  • Recycled materials can be mixed with the additive to further divert waste.
  • Its unique property does not contaminate the recycling efforts unlike compostable (PLA) bags.
  • Bags with the additive can be recycled over and over again to make new bags. During the heating process in the film's production, the active properties of the additive is destroyed to accept the material for recycling

If litter is a concern, partner with us to educate and improve the recycling habits around us. The additive can help by reacting to bacteria rich environments.
  • For the conscious consumer, the bag's recyclability is not affected by the additive, they are 100% re-usable and recyclable.
  • If accidentally littered and caught in the sewage drains, the additive will react to these environments and begin its breakdown cycle - starting in 9 months.
  • Once the enzymes have been activated, the bag will continue to breakdown until it returns to carbon dioxide, water, calcium, and inert humus like elements found in the soil without the need for heat, light, moisture, or mechanical stress to break them down.

Strong and reliable
  • Shelf life and reliability will not be affected: Encore bags will maintain the benefits of strength, leak resistance, grease resistance, and less storage requirements until they are placed in an environment that causes the material to breakdown, i.e. soil, sewers, bacteria...
  • The look, feel, or functionality of the bag will not be affected by the additive, creating a truly environmental bag solution.

*Environmental Labeling laws - restaurant bags' labeling restrictions on use of "Biodegradable, Degradable, Decomposable...(like words) may apply.

Restaurant bags bearing the Encore trade name have been produced in the USA with the three environmental ''Rs'' in mind: REDUCE, RECYCLE, & REUSE. Made locally with non-toxic (no lead, heavy metals or toxic chemicals) clean materials sourced from our own recycling center CPR3. The following Encore features will help you save on your cost and the environment:

reduce carbon footprint with recycling 100% RECYCLABLE, RECYCLED solution REDUCES YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Restaurant bags.com ensures that the highest recycled content is added to our bags, ranging from a minimum of 15% to 100% (PCR and PIR) recycled materials based on market availability. Contact us for higher recycled material content guarantees.

A unique additive can be added to the restaurant bags to accelerate the breakdown of the material while maintaining their recyclability. The carry out bags will maintain their 100% recyclability and standard shelf life until exposed to microbial environments (i.e. soil, sewers, and bacteria) where the bags can take approximately 9 months to 5 years to breakdown (labeling laws may apply).
